Postcards from the Travelling Duo of David and Anne

Here are some glimpses at British Columbia from some recent jaunts

Okanagan Lake in Black and White

With the gentle colours of wildflowers overlooking Lake Okanagan

Okanagan Lake, looking south towards Kelowna

Now heading north and east, after a stop in Revelstoke,

we drove to the ferry at Galena Bay, which took us to Nakusp on the Arrow Lakes

and the passage way for the mighty Columbia River flowing on its way south

These waters are wonderfully blue — the colour in these photos has not been enhanced

Moi

and Yonder — what is being seen??

Let's take a closer look!

Hmmm ... a glacial sinkhole? a lake?

heading south along the Lake towards the Needles Ferry

There is no charge for taking these inland ferries

This was a day so exquisite that I stopped taking photos

Closer to Home on Shuswap Lake — Bastion Mountain

An unusually windy day

And another windy, rainy day with half a rainbow

Thanks for coming along!

These are gorgeous! Lake Okanagan reminds me strongly of a reservoir lake near Kremling, on the Blue River. You may have visited with Mary J. as I kinda recall a photo. But once you are on the ferry, it's all "Alaska" memories for me! Wow. (Could that have been a little eruption making that big hole?)

I miss very few things as I always love my home but there are two things I can say I do miss from time to time: one is my rose garden in Denver and the other is vast blue waters. I am blessed here that I have at last small lakes or large ponds. Water is soothing to the soul, just knowing it is there. And I do have one tiny rose bush surviving in unnatural conditions here. I salute it.

Thanks Suzanne. Roses and water are good things to have around, and glad to share some peonies and water with you. I do not have a rose, only some non-blooming rose plants that I let grow to torment me every time I have to pass by one!! Pain but no pleasure of roses. Maybe one day one of them will bloom. Yes, perhaps it was an eruption that caused that hole...and MAYBE it's melted b/c it's HOT!! Never thought of that before. I should enquire about that hole. Thanks for writing.
